Protecting data privacy is very important to us. In this document GroupTalk the company, GroupTalk the service, GroupTalk the app and grouptalk.com are hereinafter referred to as the “company”, the “service”, the “app” and the “website” respectively. This privacy notice discloses the privacy practices of our mobile apps, our services and our websites.

Most personal data stored is supplied by the administrator(s) of your organization, to enable and improve use of the service. We collect very little personally identifiable information about you and store it securely. Some personal data will be available to your administrators and colleagues as part of the service.

Information Collection, Use, and Sharing

We do not collect or store any personal information about you, except what you or your administrators voluntarily provide through our website or other direct contact. We use third-party services like Google Analytics to help us provide and improve our service. We transfer personal information about users to third parties only if they provide a level of protection at least equivalent to the EU-U.S. Privacy Shield Framework.

If you enable contact sync in the mobile app, the contacts on your device will be accessed and read by the app in order to sync contacts (administered by your admins) from the cloud to your device. In no case is the contacts on your device uploaded to the cloud.

We do collect IP addresses of devices accessing our services in our server logs, as well as information like internet domains, the date and time of a visit, and the pages accessed on our website. This information is used solely for diagnostic and analytic purposes in order to improve and secure the services we provide. We also collect data on service usage through apps, e.g. when a user enters and leaves PTT groups and calls, enters a queue or triggers a panic alarm.

Cookies

We use cookies, system logs and other data storage technologies to (i) preserve information so you will not have to re-enter it during your visit or in subsequent visits; and (ii) monitor aggregate metrics such as total number of visitors and pages viewed. Most browsers have an option for disabling cookies, but if you turn them off, portions of our website may not work as intended. Overall, our goal is to be mainly independent of cookies.

Mobile Location Information

In some cases, when configured by your administrator(s), location data is collected through the mobile app. This data is available only to a restricted number of users (as configured), and is intended as a service for you and your organization. This data is only kept as short as possible while still useful, usually a few hours. An exception is in case of triggered panic alarms, where location data associated with the alarming device will be kept for a longer period of time (usually 30 days).

Law Enforcement and Transparency

We require a subpoena or court order to provide user information to law enforcement, like your name, means of payment, and length of service. We will only disclose user information, or location information, in response to a probable cause search warrant. If we have a good faith belief that there is an emergency involving the danger of death or severe physical injury, we may also provide the limited information necessary to prevent that harm, if we have it.

This privacy policy may be changed from time to time. Major changes will be posted on our website.
